Who We Are
The Victory Mission Car Show staff is a group of local
volunteers along with several of the Victory Mission staff
who bring you this car show to raise funds for the various
programs provided by Victory Mission. It is our goal to
constantly grow the car show to raise money and
awareness for the Mission and its programs!
The Victory Mission
Springfield Victory Mission began in the summer of 1976
when Reverend and Mrs. Everett Cook started serving
sandwiches and coffee from the back of their station
wagon, as they reached out with the Gospel to homeless
men and women on the town Square. Today the Mission
serves the greater Springfield area as a non-profit,
evangelical Christian organization, managed by a local
Board of Directors. Our job is to share the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, as we provide families, men, women and
youth with emergency, with transitional and educational
services that lead to long-term rehabilitation, restoration
and re-entry into society as functional, productive persons.
Victory Mission Programs
Victory Square
At Victory Square, a man is able to progress through different programs until he is able to re-enter
society. Whether a man comes to us through Victory Transitions, Victory Lodge, Victory Life, or
Victory Trade School he will be given the best opportunities, help, and encouragement needed to
regain control of his life and become a valued member of our community.
Victory Transitions
Victory Transitions provides 50 men the opportunity to change their lives through life skills
classes, group meetings, computer and phone access, and meetings with our Chaplains. Here,
men have a sober, clean place to stay nightly while working to get back on their feet.
Victory Lodge
Victory Lodge provides 4-6 man bedrooms to 60 men who choose to pay a nightly fee. This
program gives men needing short-term living arrangements the option of a sober, clean place to
stay that contains fewer men and greater privileges.
Victory Trade School
Victory Trade School provides 40 men an opportunity for an education. Men begin in Victory Prep
where they have work assignments, recovery classes, life skills classes, and an individualized
track of study to move ahead with their life. Graduating from Victory Prep will come with our
diploma and will qualify a student for entry into the trade school. Victory Trade School has
expanded from its culinary program of 16 men to include 16 additional men in the well-rounded
hospitality school. These students receive cross training in culinary and hotel skills and receive a
national credential, ManageFirst. Men attend quality classes and participate in hands-on work to
prepare them for careers in the restaurant or hotel/motel business.
Victory Life
Victory Life provides life-changing opportunities for men who are seeking help through life skills
classes, Bible studies, recovery sessions and a daily drop-in center. Staff and volunteers guide
men to a new life through sobriety for themselves and their families.
Family Ministries
Springfield Victory Mission's Family Ministry Office, provides emergency food, clothing, household
goods, transportation assistance, and most of all, hope. Our family worker interviews each family,
sharing God's love through prayer and help. We also, cooperate with the other helping
organizations in Springfield to help as many families as possible each month.
Victory House
Victory House is a non-denominational community outreach program under the ministry of
Springfield Victory Mission and is a center for Women with or without children who are in need of
housing. Its purpose is to provide a safe, secure Christian environment and provide spiritual,
emotional, and social growth through Bible studies, Life Skill classes, personal witnessing,
support counseling, and encouragement that leads to growth in their relationship with Christ and
transition back into the community.
Thrift Store
Springfield Victory Mission's Thrift Store is our place to help those in need with clothing, furniture,
household goods, appliances, toys, and books. We also offer affordable items for sale to the
public, with the income going back into the ministry of Victory Mission.
Victory Trade School
The Victory Trade School opened in September 2003 and teaches life skills and restaurant skills,
with a student graduating with seven certificates and a diploma from the National Restaurant
Association Educational Foundation.
Cook's Kettle Restaurant
The Cook's Kettle Restaurant is an operational restaurant, open to the public, where the men put
their classroom lessons to work by actually serving, hosting, cooking and cleaning for customers.
Victory Mission's Clothing Warehouse
Victory Mission's Clothing Warehouse bales and processes clothing for other missionary groups.
The Clothing Warehouse recycles clothing, shoes, purses, belts, metals, cardboard and other
items, with the income earned helping to pay for our other programs.
Food Depot
The Food Depot meets the Victory Mission's need for food in its internal feeding programs such
as the Family Ministry's Food Pantry, breakfast for overnight guests, and dinner after our chapel
service in the evening.
Registration at the Car Show
Our staff at the Pre-Registration

working toward the goals of
Victory Mission and it's programs
so you will not find a more
competent or helpful staff at any
show. We take pride in making
the show a success!
